The Nigerian Air Force, through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, conducted a successful precision air interdiction mission against a known terrorist stronghold at Ali Sheriffti in the Southern Tumbuns on April 24, 2026, destroying insurgent structures, eliminating several militants, and further degrading the operational capacity and freedom of movement of extremist groups in the area.
Acting on credible intelligence, air assets carried out targeted surveillance during which multiple insurgents were observed moving along concealed routes before being tracked to structures hidden beneath dense foliage, indicating deliberate and sophisticated efforts to evade aerial detection. Following positive identification of the targets, the Air Force executed a precision strike, engaging the concealed structures with onboard munitions and achieving the operation’s objectives.
Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed the operation and described it as consistent with the Air Force’s sustained focus on intelligence-driven precision operations aimed at denying terrorist groups operational havens across the North-East.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to pursuing and dismantling terrorist networks with unwavering intensity, stating that operations would be continuously intensified to ensure no enclave remained beyond the reach of Nigerian air power.
In a related development, the Nigerian Air Force graduated participants from the Air Campaign Planning Course and the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operations Management Course at the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre. Addressing graduates, Special Guest Air Vice Marshal PN Amadi described them as vital force multipliers within their respective units and emphasised the growing importance of joint operations, interconnectivity, and continuous professional development in addressing rapidly evolving security challenges. Commandant of the Centre, Air Vice Marshal Garba Jibia, explained that the Campaign Planning Course enhanced participants’ ability to plan and execute operations at the operational level, while the ISR Management Course improved their capacity to integrate intelligence and surveillance assets into joint missions.
