Adeleke Greets Traditional Religion Adherents on Isese Day and Calls for Tolerance

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has congratulated traditional religion adherents on the annual Isese Day celebration and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to religious harmony.

Adeleke said the festival remained important to the identity, spirituality and cultural traditions of many people in Osun and beyond.

He described the diversity of religious beliefs in the state as a source of cultural richness.

The governor said his administration had sought to respect different faiths and ensure that government programmes promoted unity rather than division.

Adeleke urged traditional worshippers to use the celebration to pray for peace and progress in Osun State and Nigeria.

He also encouraged participants to celebrate responsibly and with moderation.

The governor said residents could continue to expect an inclusive approach from his administration.

His message emphasised peaceful coexistence among traditional religion adherents, Christians, Muslims and other communities in the state.

Isese Day is observed by practitioners and supporters of traditional Yoruba religion and culture and has become an established public celebration in several South West states.
