ADC and Labour Party Confirm Receiving INEC Access Codes for 2027

The African Democratic Congress and the Labour Party have confirmed receiving the access codes from INEC needed to upload their candidates’ names for the 2027 general election.

ADC Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said the party had received the codes for the various offices, while Labour Party Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa said national chairman Esther Nenadi Usman had received the party’s codes. The APC was also said to have received its codes, though it was unclear whether it had begun issuing them to candidates amid internal disputes.

Investigations in several states indicated that many aggrieved APC aspirants had filed petitions through the party’s appeal committees, with party leaders intervening in some states to prevent disputes escalating.

Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered INEC to generate and release access codes for the registration of the All Democratic Alliance to the leadership headed by Akin Rickett. Justice Peter Lifu gave the commission 72 hours, faulting it for releasing the code to a person who was not a recognized pro tem secretary, and ordered the portal opened for a week.

In Gombe, APC governorship and National Assembly candidates received their INEC nomination forms through the party’s national secretariat, with Governor Muhammadu Yahaya presenting the forms to governorship candidate Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna and others, signaling the start of the legal process for submitting candidates to INEC.
