Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has inaugurated an All Progressives Congress campaign council for the 2027 elections, calling for a peaceful and policy focused effort to mobilize voters across the state.
At the event in Jos, the governor urged campaign officials to concentrate on polling unit organization and public engagement while promoting the party’s candidates, including President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Mutfwang said his administration would continue work on security and the return of displaced residents. He referred to plans involving 800 trained forest guards and additional Operation Rainbow personnel to improve protection in vulnerable communities.
He also highlighted transport and education initiatives, including metropolitan buses, rail services, tuition measures and student allowances, while arguing that national economic reforms required time to deliver wider benefits. Campaign director Joseph Ari said support groups were joining the effort, while state APC chairman Rufus Bature called for party discipline. The governor’s party affiliation, programme implementation figures and campaign appointments should be verified from official state and party records
