2027 Campaign Will Be Issue-Based, Says APC PCC Women Directorate

The Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr. Betta Edu, has said the party’s campaign for the 2027 presidential election will be anchored on issues, policies and the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration rather than personality politics.

Speaking in Abuja on Monday, Edu expressed confidence that the administration’s performance under the Renewed Hope Agenda would provide a strong basis for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to her, Nigerian women have increasingly embraced the administration’s vision and have intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts across communities, households and voting constituencies to secure renewed support for the President and sustain ongoing development initiatives.

She stated that the APC would present its record in office, including infrastructure projects, economic reforms, educational interventions and programmes designed to improve the welfare of citizens.

Edu argued that the party had tangible achievements to showcase and would focus its campaign on measurable results rather than empty promises.

The APC chieftain identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the administration’s landmark initiatives, noting that the programme had expanded access to tertiary education by addressing financial barriers faced by students and their families.

She said investment in education remained critical to human capital development, economic growth and national prosperity, adding that the student loan scheme reflected the administration’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians.

Edu stressed that the Women Mobilisation Directorate would prioritise strengthening party structures, deepening grassroots engagement and ensuring the APC’s message reached voters in both rural and urban communities.

She noted that women remain a major force in Nigeria’s electoral process due to their numerical strength and influence within families, markets, professional bodies and community organisations.

The APC women leader further stated that effective mobilisation required sustained voter engagement, political education and direct communication rather than large political rallies alone.

She commended First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for championing women’s inclusion, family development and support for vulnerable groups, while also acknowledging the contributions of Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC governors, party leaders, women’s groups and grassroots organisers across the country.

Edu expressed confidence that collaboration between the party’s leadership and women’s structures would strengthen nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

She urged APC women to remain united and committed, insisting that the party’s campaign would be driven by policy choices, governance records and issues affecting Nigerians.
