Governor Uzodimma Applauds Security Agencies Over Rescue of Kidnapped Corps Members

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has commended security agencies for their swift response and professionalism in securing the release of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who were recently kidnapped along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

In a statement personally signed by the governor, Uzodimma praised the security operatives for their patriotism, collaboration, and commitment, which led to the successful rescue of the prospective corps members without harm.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the coordinated efforts of security agencies and the governments of Imo and Oyo states, noting that their cooperation was instrumental in achieving the safe release of all the captives.

According to the statement, authorities deliberately handled the matter with discretion because of the sensitive nature of the operation and the need to prioritize the safety of those involved.

Uzodimma said the government was careful about releasing details to the public while rescue efforts were ongoing, emphasizing that the security of lives remained paramount throughout the operation.

He further thanked the security agencies for the professional and collaborative manner in which they managed the situation, describing their efforts as a reflection of dedication to national service and public safety.

The governor also commended the parents and families of the victims for their patience and understanding during the difficult period, assuring them that every effort was made to secure the safe return of their loved ones.
