APGA Warns Anambra Members Against Backing Obi and NDC in 2027

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has warned its members in Anambra State against supporting Peter Obi and the Nigeria Democratic Congress in the 2027 presidential election, saying such support would undermine APGA’s political interests.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ejimofor Opara, issued the warning in a statement urging members to remain loyal to APGA as the general election approaches.

Opara argued that Obi had continued to support candidates from his own political platform against APGA candidates in successive elections. On that basis, he told party members to regard support for Obi and the NDC as opposition to APGA.

The spokesman said there was no formal or informal power sharing agreement between APGA and the NDC and urged members not to embrace political arrangements that, in his view, could weaken the party’s established structure in Anambra.

Opara also defended APGA’s support for President Bola Tinubu, linking the position to what he described as the party’s history of cooperation with the government at the centre and to federal infrastructure projects in the South East.

He said APGA’s political position in Anambra remained worth protecting and called on members to remain united ahead of the election. The claims and characterizations in the statement represent APGA’s political position.
