Obi Camp Accuses Soludo of Turning Political Rivalry into Governance Distraction

The media organization of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has accused Governor Chukwuma Soludo of allowing political rivalry with his predecessor to distract his administration from governance, escalating the public confrontation between the two political camps.

Peter Obi Media Reach said the Soludo administration was devoting excessive attention and public resources to attacks on Obi instead of concentrating on infrastructure, education, environmental problems and public safety.

The allegations followed a publication associated with the Soludo administration that urged Anambra voters to reject Obi and opposition political forces.

In response, Obi’s media team described the criticism as evidence of what it called an unhealthy political fixation and challenged the governor to focus on the condition of the state.

Spokesman Idris Zekeri Jnr alleged that some roads were deteriorating while construction was still ongoing and said the administration should devote more attention to assessing projects across Anambra.

The group also claimed that people within the government had complained that discussions about Obi were taking substantial time during meetings of the State Executive Council. No independent evidence supporting that claim was provided in the material supplied for this report, and the Soludo administration’s response to the specific allegation was not included.

Obi’s camp said it was responding because it believed the governor’s political messaging was attempting to associate the former governor with problems that should be addressed by the current administration.

The latest exchange reflects a widening political divide between two of Anambra’s most prominent political figures as national and state political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 elections.

The claims about project quality, use of public resources and the conduct of executive meetings remain allegations from Obi’s media organisation unless supported by official records or independently verified evidence.
