President Bola Tinubu has announced the operationalisation of new military formations in Osun, Kebbi, Oyo and Zamfara states as part of efforts to strengthen security and improve responses to threats in vulnerable communities.
The President disclosed this in a statement posted on his verified X account on Sunday.
According to Tinubu, the new formations will bring troops closer to communities facing security challenges, enabling faster and more effective responses.
“This week, the Nigerian Army operationalised new formations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Oyo and Osun. Our troops are now closer to vulnerable communities,” he stated.
The President also revealed that construction of new military barracks and logistics depots is ongoing in Abuja, Ekiti, Ebonyi and Kogi states, while a similar project in Osun has been completed.
Tinubu stressed the importance of military welfare, noting that improved remuneration and support systems are essential for personnel carrying out national security responsibilities.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that members of the Armed Forces have the resources needed to perform their duties efficiently while supporting their families.
