Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, have blocked major roads around the institution in protest against an industrial dispute that has kept academic activities suspended for 68 days.
The demonstration was led by the Students’ Union Government and affected movement around the university’s main gate and nearby roads.
Students carried placards demanding an immediate resolution of the dispute and reopening of the institution.
SUG President Folagbade Greatness Ayoola said students had endured repeated assurances without a concrete settlement.
He said the prolonged strike had disrupted academic programmes and created uncertainty for students, particularly those approaching final examinations and graduation.
Ayoola said the union would continue peaceful and lawful protests until academic activities resumed.
Students’ Union General Secretary Oluwatimileyin Amos said many students were unable to make basic plans because they did not know when the university would reopen.
He said final-year and pending-graduation students were among those most severely affected.
Students’ Senate President Adebiyi Kehinde said the union had previously engaged university management and other stakeholders but had not secured the resolution it wanted.
He appealed to government and all parties to the industrial dispute to address the outstanding issues.
A 500-level student also urged authorities to meet legitimate obligations and allow students to return to campus.
The supplied material attributes the strike to unresolved disputes involving university unions and government obligations.
It does not provide a detailed response from the Ondo State Government or university management to the students’ latest protest.
The students said their central demand was straightforward: an end to the strike and immediate restoration of academic activities.
