Bruno Fernandes Hat-Trick Fires Manchester United to 5-2 Comeback Win Over Ipswich

Manchester United claimed their first Premier League victory of the season with a emphatic 5-2 comeback win over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford, powered by a brilliant hat-trick from captain Bruno Fernandes.

United, still looking to bounce back from their opening-day defeat to Hull City, fell behind in the 29th minute when Leif Davis finished a move created by Abdul Fatawu. The hosts responded before half-time as Fernandes restored parity to send the teams into the break level at 1-1.

Michael Carrick’s side returned for the second half with greater intensity and quickly took control. An Ipswich own goal handed United the lead before Fernandes converted a penalty to make it 3-1. The Portuguese midfielder completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, putting the home side firmly in command.

Bryan Mbeumo added a fifth goal for United after playing a part in Fernandes’ third, underlining the hosts’ attacking dominance after the interval. Ipswich pulled one back late through substitute Chuba Akpom, but it was not enough to prevent United from securing all three points.

Although the visitors started brightly and caused United problems in the opening stages, they struggled to contain the hosts once they found their rhythm after the break. Fernandes was the clear standout, finishing with three goals and an assist as United produced a strong response to their disappointing start to the campaign.
