The Nigerian military says troops killed 69 terrorists, rescued 363 kidnapped victims and arrested 49 suspects during operations conducted across different parts of the country within one week.
The Defence Headquarters said the operations involved coordinated land, air and maritime activities against terrorists, kidnappers, economic saboteurs and other criminal groups.
Troops also intensified the campaign against crude oil theft and illegal refining operations.
Three illegal refinery sites were dismantled, while approximately 251,600 litres of suspected stolen crude oil were recovered.
Military personnel also destroyed 12 pits allegedly being used to store illegally obtained petroleum products.
The Defence Headquarters confirmed that one soldier died during the operations while another sustained injuries.
In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai prevented an attempted abduction along the Buratai Kamuya Road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
The soldiers pursued the attackers and rescued 31 people, comprising 22 men, five women and four children.
Four vehicles and a motorcycle believed to belong to the terrorists were also recovered.
A suspected terrorist informant was arrested at Garaha Market in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
In another operation near Amuda Bridge in Gwoza Local Government Area, troops rescued two women and two children who had reportedly been held in captivity since the 2023 farming season.
The military also arrested suspected logistics suppliers accused of transporting food and other items to terrorist groups in parts of Borno State.
Among those rescued was an 18 year old woman abducted in November 2025 around the Dogoba Kopre area of Askira Uba Local Government Area.
She received medical attention before being reunited with her family.
Chief of Defence Staff Olufemi Oluyede praised troops for their discipline, resilience and commitment to restoring security.
He also commended cooperation between the Armed Forces, other security agencies, community groups and relevant stakeholders.
Oluyede said the military would maintain the current operational momentum until peace and stability were restored across affected areas.
