Access Bank Plc has dismissed as false a fabricated shutdown notice circulating on social media and messaging platforms, reassuring customers and stakeholders that the bank remains financially strong and fully operational.

In a statement, the bank described the notice, which falsely impersonated its official communication channels, as misleading and intended to cause panic and disrupt business activity, stressing that all its operations across subsidiaries remain unaffected and customer services continue running seamlessly. The bank said it is working with regulatory and law enforcement authorities to identify those responsible for spreading the false information, warning that creating and disseminating such content constitutes an offence under Nigeria’s cybercrimes law, and urged the public not to share the message and to rely only on its official verified channels.
