The National Assembly Service Commission has confirmed Ibrahim Sidi as the substantive Clerk of the House of Representatives, ending a six month period in an acting capacity. The confirmation was approved during the commission’s thirty first board meeting in Abuja.
Five other senior officials also had their appointments confirmed, including Fortune Ihua Maduenyi as Secretary for Protocol and Inter Parliamentary Relations, Asien Fatima Nana as Secretary for Zonal Liaison Offices, Engr. Bashir Layya as Secretary for Estates and Works, Siaka Wahab Sadia as Deputy Clerk (Legislative), and Dauda Bulama Bukar as Deputy Clerk (Administration). The appointments had originally been made on an acting basis in January 2026.
