Zulum Donates JAMB Zonal Headquarters and 500 Seat Test Centre to Boost Northeast Education

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has commissioned a multi million naira Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board zonal headquarters and computer based test center, one of the largest in the country, aimed at improving access to tertiary admission services across the Northeast.

The facility, located along the Maiduguri Dikwa Road, will serve as JAMB’s zonal office for the region’s six states, with a dual test center capable of accommodating 500 candidates simultaneously and processing more than 2,000 candidates daily. Zulum described the project as part of his administration’s broader effort to rebuild education infrastructure in a region affected by years of insurgency, positioning the Northeast as a hub for computer based testing.

JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede called the project unprecedented, noting it is the first time a state governor has independently built and donated a zonal office and testing center to the board, and said the facility, completed within four months, will allow the board to complete registration and documentation for applicants from Borno State far more quickly than before. In recognition of Oloyede’s contributions to education, Zulum directed that the facility be named after the outgoing registrar.
