Dangote Industries Limited has launched a public whistleblowing initiative offering a N500,000 cash reward to anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of individuals illegally using Dangote branded trucks to haul unauthorised goods or transport people, part of a broader push to protect the integrity of its nationwide logistics operations.
In a statement, the company said only specifically approved products may travel on trucks belonging to its subsidiaries: Dangote Cement trucks are authorised to carry only cement, limestone, high grade gypsum, coal and clinker, Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are restricted to sugar products, NASCON Allied Industries trucks are designated exclusively for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, Dangote Packaging vehicles are meant solely for bags and packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are authorised to transport polypropylene products, and Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are approved only for urea fertiliser haulage. Any Dangote truck found carrying goods outside its authorised category will be treated as engaged in illegal haulage, the company warned, with both drivers and the owners of the goods liable to arrest, cargo confiscation and prosecution under applicable law.
Anyone with verifiable information leading to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage or the recovery of unauthorised goods on Dangote trucks will receive a five hundred thousand naira cash reward, the statement said, asking whistleblowers to provide detailed information including truck type, registration plate number, cab number, vehicle location, a description of the goods being transported, the truck’s colour and photographs of the vehicle and cargo where possible. The company disclosed dedicated hotlines have been set up across its operations, including its Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants, to receive reports, and confirmed that law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorised to arrest any driver found using company trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage. Reaffirming a zero tolerance policy toward logistics related fraud, Dangote urged Nigerians to help protect legitimate business operations by exposing illegal operators, saying public cooperation remains critical to eradicating illegal haulage and that the whistleblowing programme aims to protect company assets while strengthening transparency, accountability and compliance across its logistics network.
