Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, House of Representatives Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and UN Special Representative for Sustainable Energy Damilola Ogunbiyi are among the high-profile speakers confirmed for the inaugural Nigeria Climate Investment Summit scheduled for June 23 at Mansion House in London as part of the London Climate Action Week.
Convened by Sustainability and GLOBE Legislators, the summit is designed as a high-level platform to connect Nigeria’s climate policy progress with international capital, catalyze strategic partnerships, and translate the country’s growing renewable energy and sustainable development commitments into concrete financial flows from global investors and development institutions.
Ogunbiyi, who will deliver the keynote address, serves as Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All and Co-chair of UN-Energy. Organizers described her as uniquely positioned to set the stage for discussions on the summit’s theme of catalyzing Nigeria’s climate policy progress into financial flows for green projects, given her direct involvement in shaping Nigeria’s energy transition trajectory. Other confirmed speakers include the Chief Executive of the Climate Investment Funds, senior officials from the NDC Partnership, Commonwealth Secretariat, UK Department for Energy Security, and Bank of Industry, as well as private sector sustainability and finance leaders. The summit will feature high-level plenaries, technical sessions, climate investment showcases, and dialogues on renewable energy, transition finance, ESG governance, carbon markets, and subnational investment
