The newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force, Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, has pledged to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen-centred policing in the discharge of his duties.
In his first remarks following his appointment, CSP Iniedu reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to fostering stronger relationships with citizens and enhancing public trust through responsive communication and engagement.
He emphasized that combating crime and impunity remains a collective responsibility that requires the active participation and cooperation of all Nigerians.
According to the police spokesperson, effective policing can only be achieved through sustained collaboration between law enforcement agencies, the media, civil society organizations, and members of the public.
CSP Iniedu also extended an invitation to stakeholders across the country to engage constructively with the Force Public Relations Department, assuring them of openness and professionalism in handling public concerns and information dissemination.
The new FPRO expressed appreciation for the goodwill messages and support he has received since his appointment, stating that he is committed to delivering results while upholding the principles of accountability and transparency.
He pledged to build on ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force and strengthen communication channels aimed at improving public confidence in the institution.
“In assuming this office, I reaffirm the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to a new era of responsive, transparent and citizen-centred policing. Crime and impunity remain our common enemy, and their defeat requires the active partnership of every Nigerian,” he said.
CSP Iniedu recently assumed office as the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force following his appointment by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu. His appointment is expected to further enhance the Force’s public engagement strategy and support efforts aimed at improving police-community relations nationwide.
