The Managing Director of the Edo State-owned Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Sulaiman Aledeh, has resigned from his position following his recent redeployment by the state government.
Aledeh, a veteran journalist and one of the earliest appointees of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration in 2024, submitted his resignation effective May 30, 2026.
His resignation comes days after the Edo State Government approved his redeployment to the Edo State Orientation Agency as the pioneer Director-General of the newly established agency.
The redeployment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, over the weekend.
In a resignation letter addressed to Governor Okpebholo and dated May 30, Aledeh said he decided to step down to focus on the next phase of his professional career and pursue other personal endeavours.
“I write to formally tender my resignation as Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), effective 30 May 2026. This decision has been taken to enable me to devote my full attention to the next phase of my professional journey as a media practitioner and to pursue other endeavours as a private citizen,” he stated.
Aledeh expressed appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for the opportunity to serve, describing his tenure at EBS as a privilege and a rewarding experience.
