Tunji-Ojo Hosts Polish Delegation, Seeks Stronger Nigeria-Poland Partnership

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Poland in areas of border management, immigration systems, cybersecurity, and technology-driven security solutions.

Tunji-Ojo made this known on Thursday while receiving a high-powered Polish delegation led by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.

According to the minister, discussions during the meeting focused on expanding collaboration between both countries in critical sectors, including digital security, capacity building, and modernisation of immigration and border control systems.

He noted that the engagement reflects Nigeria’s commitment to building strategic international partnerships capable of improving national security and enhancing institutional efficiency.

Tunji-Ojo assured the Polish delegation that Nigeria remains open to investment and sustainable partnerships, particularly in areas that support economic growth and technological advancement.

He said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to implement reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business in the country.

The minister highlighted some of the reforms to include the unification of exchange rates, efforts to tackle inflation, and the removal of fuel subsidies, describing them as bold steps designed to reposition Nigeria’s economy for long-term stability and growth.

Tunji-Ojo added that stronger cooperation with Poland would contribute to enhancing Nigeria’s technological capabilities and strengthening security architecture through innovation and knowledge exchange.
