Rabiu Abdullahi Umar Visits Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan to Strengthen Petroleum Sector Collaboration

The Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Rabiu Abdullahi Umar, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan.

The visit, accompanied by members of Umar’s management team, marked his first official engagement since assuming office as the substantive head of the NMDPRA.

According to officials, the meeting underscored the existing partnership between both regulatory agencies and their shared commitment to advancing effective regulation within Nigeria’s petroleum industry.

During discussions, the two chief executives explored areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen collaboration in line with the objectives of the Petroleum Industry Act.

The engagement also highlighted the importance of synergy between the NMDPRA and NUPRC in promoting regulatory efficiency, improving industry performance and supporting the sustainable growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

Both regulatory leaders expressed optimism about sustaining a professional and collaborative relationship aimed at encouraging investment, expanding opportunities and driving further development within the petroleum industry.
