Akume Meets Uganda’s President Museveni in Kampala to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, on Wednesday held talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the Presidential Villa in Kampala as part of efforts to strengthen relations between Nigeria and Uganda.

Akume said the meeting was held on behalf of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and focused on deepening bilateral cooperation and promoting shared interests between both countries.

According to him, discussions centred on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, with particular emphasis on trade, regional collaboration, and mutual development objectives.

The engagement is expected to reinforce ongoing cooperation between Nigeria and Uganda in key sectors aimed at boosting economic growth and regional integration across Africa.

The meeting also reflects Nigeria’s continued efforts to expand strategic partnerships with African nations under the Tinubu administration’s foreign policy and economic diplomacy agenda.
