APC Chairman Warns Aspirants to Accept Primary Outcomes or Face Sanctions

All Progressives Congress National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has issued a direct warning to party aspirants to conduct themselves with discipline and maturity ahead of the forthcoming party primaries, threatening suspension and other severe disciplinary measures against anyone found instigating violence, sponsoring unrest, engaging in anti-party activities, or attempting to undermine the integrity of the process.

In a statement addressing aspirants who recently underwent the party’s screening exercises, Yilwatda stressed that the APC had built its reputation as the most organized and nationally accepted political platform in Nigeria through sustained institutional effort, and that no individual ambition would be permitted to override the collective interest of the party or destabilize the nation.

He reminded aspirants that every democratic contest produced winners and non-winners and said the key measure of character was not whether a candidate won but the spirit with which the process was approached and the outcome accepted.

Separately, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike dismissed suggestions that he had any involvement in the screening of APC aspirants in Rivers State, saying he was not a member of the APC and had no knowledge of or role in the party’s internal processes. Wike said the emerging rainbow coalition in Rivers State would assess where it commanded electoral strength and vote accordingly ahead of 2027.
