President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi to participate in the two-day Africa Forward Summit focused on innovation, economic growth, and strategic partnerships across the continent.
The President’s aircraft, Nigeria Air Force 1, landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. on Monday.
Tinubu was received by senior Nigerian government officials, including Uba Sani, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Gboyega Oyetola, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
During the visit, Tinubu is expected to attend the Africa-France Summit, which will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.
The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on key issues including energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, green industrialisation, and reforms to the global financing system.
According to officials, Tinubu’s participation is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s strategic partnerships with African nations and France, while also showcasing ongoing economic reforms intended to position Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment.
Following the Nairobi summit, the President is expected to travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.
The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to bring together more than 2,000 business leaders, policymakers, and investors to discuss economic transformation, regional integration, and cross-border investments across Africa.
Tinubu is also scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with African and international business leaders during the trip.
