Dayo Ekong Akin-Taylor Elected NDC South-West Deputy Chairman at Party Convention

Pastor Dayo Ekong Akin-Taylor has been elected Deputy Chairman (South West) of the Nigeria Democratic Congress during the party’s maiden National Convention held in Abuja.

Akin-Taylor described the election as a great honour and expressed appreciation to party members for the confidence reposed in her leadership.

Speaking after the convention, she said the gathering marked a significant milestone for the NDC and described it as one of the most successful political conventions in recent times.

According to her, the South-West bloc of the party played a major role at the convention, with a strong and coordinated delegation from the region, including representatives from Lagos and other states.

She noted that delegates from the South-West actively participated in strategic meetings, consultations, and deliberations focused on strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The South West delegation recorded one of the convention’s most visible and organised representations, actively participating in leadership consultations and other convention activities,” she said.

Akin-Taylor also joined other party leaders in welcoming dignitaries, lawmakers, youth groups, stakeholders, and supporters who attended the event from different parts of the country.

She added that supporters across the South-West reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the party’s unity and grassroots structures as preparations intensify for future elections.

The NDC convention brought together party leaders and stakeholders to discuss strategies for expanding the party’s national presence and positioning it as a major opposition force ahead of the 2027 polls.
