The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned that any building within Abuja used for the sale of nomination forms by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be sealed.
Speaking at a media parley on Wednesday, Wike issued the directive amid rising internal disputes within the opposition party, particularly involving a group linked to Adamu Turaki.
The minister said the FCT Administration would not permit the use of public or private properties for activities deemed unauthorised or in breach of established regulations. He added that relevant enforcement agencies had been instructed to identify and shut down any premises used for such purposes.
Wike emphasised that the directive was aimed at enforcing compliance with existing laws governing property use in the capital, stressing that no individual or group would be exempt regardless of political affiliation.
The development comes as rival factions within the PDP continue to compete for influence ahead of key party processes, including the sale of nomination forms.
Wike maintained that the move was not politically motivated but necessary to maintain order and uphold regulatory standards in the FCT.
There has been no immediate response from officials associated with the Turaki faction.
