Tinubu Alleges Plot to Exploit Insecurity Against Him, Vows to Seek Second Term

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has alleged that political opponents are attempting to use the country’s security challenges to undermine his administration and force him out of office.

Speaking during a recent engagement, the President said he remained undeterred by such efforts, describing himself as a “stubborn politician” who would not be pressured into stepping aside.

“My enemies want to use insecurity in the country to get rid of me, but I will not go,” Tinubu said, adding that he remains committed to addressing the nation’s challenges.

The President also confirmed his intention to seek a second term in office, signalling early political positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tinubu maintained that his administration is taking steps to tackle insecurity across the country, even as he acknowledged the concerns of Nigerians over rising incidents of violence and unrest in some regions.

He urged citizens to remain supportive of ongoing government efforts, stressing that national stability and development require collective responsibility.

The remarks come amid heightened political activity and growing debates over governance, security, and economic conditions in Nigeria, as stakeholders begin to align ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Observers say the President’s comments reflect increasing political tensions, with opposition voices expected to intensify scrutiny of the government’s handling of key national issues in the coming months.
