The Police Service Commission has released the names of successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force as constables, completing a recruitment exercise for 50,000 personnel meant to strengthen the country’s security architecture.
In a statement from Head of Protocol and Public Relations Torty Njoku Kalu, the commission said the exercise followed a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent process carried out with the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee. Candidates who sat the recently concluded written examination were advised to check their status on the official recruitment portal, with successful applicants also notified through the email addresses and phone numbers provided during application, and expected to report to designated Police Training Institutions on dates to be communicated for medical examination and documentation. The commission warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period will be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who fail the medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team upon resumption will be declared medically unfit and withdrawn from the exercise.
Commission Chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 police constables as part of efforts to strengthen national security, and urged successful candidates to treat their recruitment as a call to national service, discharging their duties with dignity, integrity and unwavering commitment to a safer, more secure Nigeria.
