Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has renewed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid to secure a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke reaffirmed his endorsement on Sunday while delivering his victory speech following his re-election as governor of the state.

The governor, who had previously declared his support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition, praised the President for what he described as his commitment to ensuring a free and fair governorship election in Osun State.

“At this point, I must deeply appreciate Mr President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his strong support for a free and fair election,” Adeleke said.

Describing Tinubu as “a son of Osun State,” the governor used the occasion to renew his backing for the President’s re-election bid.

“Mr President is a son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

Adeleke also disclosed that Tinubu had personally called to congratulate him on his victory before the Independent National Electoral Commission formally announced the final results.

The governor’s renewed endorsement came shortly after he secured a second term in office in Saturday’s governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.

INEC declared Adeleke the winner after he polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji garnered 444,815 votes.

The African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke’s re-election extends his tenure in Osun State and comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
