Galaxy Backbone Targets Expansion of Digital Government Services Beyond 30 MDAs

Galaxy Backbone (GBB) has announced plans to expand its digital transformation programme across more federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), building on the successful digitalisation of over 30 government institutions.

Managing Director of GBB, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, disclosed this during a customer engagement breakfast organised to commemorate Customer Service Week 2026 in Abuja.

Adeyanju said the agency had already migrated more than 30 MDAs to a unified government digital platform, enabling electronic approval of documents and memos while reducing reliance on paper-based processes.

According to him, the initiative has not only improved efficiency but also reduced operational costs and promoted environmental sustainability through lower paper consumption.

He noted that Galaxy Backbone would continue to drive adoption of paperless services while extending its digital infrastructure to underserved locations and institutions.

“We want to increase adoption of the paperless service and continue to improve customer satisfaction while extending our services to areas where we currently do not have a presence,” he said.

The GBB boss added that the organisation remains central to the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda by automating workflows, improving transparency and enhancing public sector efficiency.

Speaking earlier, Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Mr. Olusegun Olulade, represented by the Group Head of Human Resources, Mr. Olugbenga Omoniyi, said customer centricity remains a core value of the organisation.

Also speaking, the Head of Marketing and Business Intelligence, Ifeatu Anafulu, reaffirmed Galaxy Backbone’s commitment to delivering secure and innovative digital solutions for government institutions and businesses across the country.

She said the organisation’s digital transformation strategy extends beyond the Federal Capital Territory to include sub-national governments as part of efforts to become Nigeria’s preferred digital transformation partner.
