Oyebanji Attributes Re-election Victory, Four Years of Success to Divine Grace

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has attributed the achievements of his administration over the past four years and his successful re-election in the June 20 governorship election to the grace and faithfulness of God.

The governor stated this during an eight-hour special praise and thanksgiving programme tagged “8 Hour Sacrifice of Praise”, held in Ado-Ekiti as part of activities marking the commencement of his second term in office.

The event drew thousands of worshippers and featured performances by renowned gospel ministers, including Nathaniel Bassey, Yinka Alaseyori, BJ Sax and the National Praise Team of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Also present were Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, the governor’s wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji; Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye; top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers and business leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Oyebanji said the thanksgiving event was deliberately included in his inauguration programme to appreciate God for the successes recorded during his first term and to commit the next four years into God’s hands.

He explained that the eight-hour praise session was structured to represent four hours of thanksgiving for the previous term and four hours of prayer and praise for the new administration.

Reflecting on his political journey, the governor said his emergence as governor and subsequent re-election could only be explained by divine intervention.

According to him, despite not being considered one of the leading contenders during the governorship race, God paved the way for his emergence and eventual electoral victory.

Oyebanji also recalled the uncertainties surrounding the party’s primary election and the general election, noting that God made his emergence as a consensus candidate possible and granted him victory at the polls.

He urged residents to continue praying for the state and his administration as it begins another four-year term.
