A senior magistrate court in Abuja has reportedly issued bench warrants for former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former senator Ifeanyi Araraume and two other individuals in connection with allegations involving documents from the All Progressives Congress primary for Imo West.
The two others were identified in the supplied court account as Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha. The warrants, reportedly dated September 9, 2026, relate to allegations of conspiracy, forgery, perjury and use of false documents in proceedings identified as CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026. The allegations have not been established as findings of guilt.
The Independent National Electoral Commission also reportedly petitioned the police and Department of State Services over a disputed primary result that named Okorocha as winner. According to the account of INEC’s October 8 correspondence, the commission said the party documentation it received instead identified Governor Hope Uzodimma as the successful aspirant.
INEC requested an investigation into the disputed material, warning that competing documents could heighten political tension in Imo State. The underlying warrants, correspondence and responses from those named were not independently available for this rewrite; the claims require documentary verification and an opportunity for the affected parties to respond before publication.
