The National Examinations Council has said terrorism, banditry and other security challenges have not stopped it from conducting examinations and releasing results across Nigeria.
Registrar and Chief Executive Ibrahim Wushishi made the statement in Minna at NECO’s 2025 Annual Staff Productivity Award Ceremony.
He said examination materials and logistics had continued to move according to plan despite difficult operating conditions in some parts of the country.
Wushishi credited staff and partners with maintaining examination operations through dedication and professionalism.
He said the productivity awards were designed to motivate personnel, encourage continuous improvement and strengthen accountability within the examination body.
Awards were presented in categories including service recognition for retirees, hardworking staff, best state coordinator, best driver and exceptional performance in other areas.
NECO also recognized the best-performing male and female students in its 2025 examinations.
Wushishi urged award recipients to treat the recognition as an incentive for higher standards rather than a ceremonial honor.
He said the council remained committed to improving examination administration and maintaining the credibility and international acceptance of its certificates.
