Nigerian Afro-fusion star Burna Boy has been announced as the headline performer for the halftime show at the 2026 NFL Paris Game.
The announcement was made on Thursday morning during an appearance on Good Morning America, with the performance scheduled for October 25 at the Stade de France in Paris.
The game, featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints, will be the first NFL game to be played in France and one of a record nine international games scheduled for the 2026 season.
The Paris fixture is also among seven international NFL games that will feature a halftime show this season.
Burna Boy, known for hit songs including Last Last and Love, expressed excitement about performing at the historic event and representing African music on the international stage.
“The NFL is bringing something to France that has never happened here before, and I get to stand in the middle of it representing African music and I intend to give the people a show they will not forget,” the singer said in a statement released by the NFL.
Tim Tubito, the NFL’s Senior Director of Global Game Presentation, Music and Entertainment, said Paris was an important cultural centre with a strong connection to African music.
“Paris is one of the great cultural capitals of the world, and African music sits right at the heart of what the city listens to,” Tubito said.
Burna Boy’s performance is expected to add an African musical dimension to the NFL’s first regular-season game in France as the league continues to expand its international presence.
