Nigeria’s podcasting and storytelling community will gather in Lagos on September 25 for the second edition of PodFest Naija, an event designed to bring together creators, brands, storytellers and media professionals.
The festival, organized by The Muvmnt Studio, will hold at Harbor Point in Victoria Island.
Organizers said the event was created as a meeting point for Nigeria’s growing independent storytelling ecosystem, with emphasis on learning, collaboration, innovation and commercial development.
The inaugural edition attracted more than 1,200 participants and over 40 storytellers, brand representatives and other contributors, according to the organizers.
They said the first event generated a reported reach of more than 35 million people.
The 2026 edition is expected to feature a wider program across business, entertainment, health, culture, finance, branding and public affairs.
Announced participants include Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani, Audu Maikori, Salem King, Tosin Olaseinde, Joro Olomofin, Toolz, Aproko Doctor, Fisayo Soyombo, Rufai Oseni, Khadijah Okunnu and other creators and professionals.
The program is organized around four themes: Celebration, Collaboration, Innovation and Learning.
Sessions will include panel discussions, masterclasses, networking and exhibitions.
One major feature will be the Next Big Podcaster initiative, which is intended to identify and promote emerging podcast talent.
Spotify will also lead a masterclass focused on audience growth, content strategy and the sustainability of podcast platforms.
PodFest curator Tosin Adefeko said the festival reflected the changing nature of storytelling, where audiences increasingly participate in producing and distributing narratives rather than simply consuming them.
The exhibition component will allow brands to interact directly with creators and audiences.
Corporate supporters listed by organizers include Eventful Nigeria, MTN, Fan Milk, Eve Essentials and UAC.
The festival is positioning itself as both a creative gathering and a business-development platform as Nigeria’s creator economy expands into new areas of employment, entrepreneurship and cultural influence.
