Yari Promises APC Will Honour 2027 Campaign Commitments

Director General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Abdulaziz Yari has pledged that the ruling party will keep the promises it makes to Nigerians during the 2027 campaign.

Yari made the statement after arriving in Abuja to formally assume his responsibilities in President Bola Tinubu’s reelection campaign.

The former Zamfara State governor said the APC intended to campaign on commitments it believed could be fulfilled.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term.

Yari also thanked supporters who gathered to welcome him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

He said the party’s campaign would present what he described as a shared national vision and asked supporters to pray for the President and the country.

The comments came shortly after the APC released the membership of its Presidential Campaign Council.

Tinubu chairs the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serve as vice chairmen.

Yari’s appointment places him at the centre of nationwide campaign coordination.

The APC is expected to face strong scrutiny over economic hardship, insecurity, cost of living pressures and the outcomes of major reforms introduced since 2023.

Yari said the party would seek to persuade voters that its record and future programme justified another mandate.

The opposition has already begun attacking the composition of the campaign council and challenging some appointments.

The APC, however, is moving ahead with mobilisation as the election timetable advances.
