Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66.
Hassan reportedly passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, following a battle with stage-four cancer.
His death comes days after rumours of his demise circulated on social media. His family had earlier dismissed the reports as false, but his passing was officially confirmed on Sunday.
The actor was one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry and built a distinguished career spanning several decades.
Known for his versatility and commanding performances, Hassan featured in numerous Nigerian films and became a respected name in Nollywood.
His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and other stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment industry, who have mourned the loss of one of the country’s veteran actors.
