Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed reports of a disagreement between the state executive and the House of Assembly over the 2026 budget.
The governor said the appropriation proposal had already been presented to lawmakers and was proceeding through the normal legislative process.
His Chief Press Secretary Onwuka Nzeshi said the executive and legislature were not at loggerheads.
The administration expressed confidence that lawmakers would complete their review and pass the budget once the required process was concluded.
The clarification followed reports suggesting renewed political tension between the two arms of government.
Rivers State has experienced prolonged political disputes in recent years, making claims of another confrontation particularly sensitive.
Fubara urged stakeholders to avoid narratives capable of reigniting controversy.
He said peace and cooperation were necessary to sustain development across the state.
The governor maintained that his administration remained committed to working with the Assembly in the interest of Rivers residents.
