A coalition of civil society organizations has commended the Director General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, for what it described as improved professionalism and institutional effectiveness.
The group also expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s governance and reform agenda.
National Chairman of Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, Collins Eshiofeh, spoke during a rally in Abuja.
He said the coalition was committed to supporting responsible leadership, opposing criminality and promoting constructive civic engagement.
Eshiofeh praised the administration’s reforms and the approval of a new national minimum wage, describing the decision as evidence that the government was responding to workers’ concerns.
He also said the DSS had become more proactive and professional under Ajayi, particularly in operations against terrorism, banditry and threats to national stability.
The coalition passed a vote of confidence in the President and the DSS leadership.
It nevertheless urged security agencies to remain professional, impartial and guided by the rule of law.
The group said Nigerians deserved fair justice, effective public safety and respect for citizens’ rights.
