Maple Leaf Early Years Foundation has been named one of the organisations selected to deliver a World Bank supported early childhood care and development training programme, following its participation in a two day memorandum of understanding signing workshop organised by the Federal Ministry of Education and the World Bank under the IDEAS TVET Project in Abuja.
The workshop brought together successful Early Childhood Care and Development Training Service Providers from across the country and covered project implementation procedures, contractual obligations, safeguarding and child protection, communication methods for children with diverse needs, reporting and monitoring requirements, the National Skills Qualification Framework and the respective roles of early childhood practitioners and training providers. Maple Leaf Executive Director Ifedinma Nwigwe called the engagement a significant milestone for the Foundation, saying the training strengthened its capacity to deliver quality programmes in line with the National ECCD Framework and the IDEAS TVET Project’s objectives, equipping the organisation to implement the World Bank supported training while adhering to national standards and project expectations.
Nwigwe reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to partnering with the Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to strengthen the capacity of early childhood practitioners and improve learning outcomes for young children nationwide, expressing gratitude for being selected as one of the programme’s implementers and for a workshop she said was genuinely helpful in preparing all the selected organisations to move forward.
