Troops Arrest Two Suspected Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers, Seize 750 Litres of Petrol in Yobe

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers and recovered 750 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) during a targeted operation in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 3:30 p.m. on June 24 by troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison, following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorist collaborators along the Buni Gari–Bara Road.

The suspects were identified as Lawali Alhaji Yunusa and Musa Ibrahim Baguwa, both natives of Kukawa Ward in Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Items recovered during the operation included 30 jerrycans of 25 litres each containing Premium Motor Spirit, amounting to approximately 750 litres of fuel, two TVS motorcycles, one Tecno mobile phone, and ₦49,650 in cash.

Military sources disclosed that the suspects and the recovered items are currently in the custody of the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison for further investigation to determine their alleged involvement in Boko Haram’s logistics network.

According to the sources, the operation is part of the military’s ongoing counter-insurgency campaign aimed at disrupting the supply chains that sustain terrorist activities across the North-East.

The sources added that Operation HADIN KAI has intensified efforts to intercept fuel, food supplies, and other materials suspected to be destined for insurgent enclaves as part of measures to weaken the operational capabilities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups operating in the region.

Investigations into the activities of the suspects are ongoing.
