I Don’t Believe Marrying a Poor Man Can Make You Happy – Nancy Isime

Popular Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has shared her views on the importance of financial stability in relationships and marriage.

Speaking during a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the actress stated that while love is important, financial hardship can place significant strain on a marriage and affect the overall quality of family life.

According to Isime, she does not believe that marrying a financially unstable man can guarantee happiness for a woman, stressing that economic challenges often overshadow the joy that comes with marriage.

“Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme, but I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy,” she said.

“When rent is due, school fees can’t be paid, and there is no food in the house, it is difficult to have a fantastic life.

“I am not saying there is no love without money. But love and a fantastic life are not the same.”

The actress further advised intending couples to attain a reasonable level of financial stability before getting married and starting a family, noting that financial preparedness can help reduce pressure and create a more conducive environment for a successful marriage.

Her comments have since sparked conversations on social media, with many Nigerians sharing differing opinions on the role of money in relationships and marital happiness.
