First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has commissioned a community digital training center in Vandeikya Local Government Area and formally opened ten completed road projects in Makurdi, combining infrastructure delivery with political mobilization as she urged Benue residents to continue supporting President Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia.
The ICT Centre in Ihugh, developed by the National Information Technology Development Agency in partnership with her Renewed Hope Initiative, was described by Mrs. Tinubu as part of the federal government’s commitment to ensuring that digital access and skills training reached communities outside major cities. The facility forms part of a broader national program of community digital access points developed through the NITDA and Renewed Hope Initiative collaboration.
The ten road projects in Makurdi, spanning a combined 11.5 kilometers and covering major corridors including the Ishaya Bakut Road dual carriageway, Abu King Shuluwa Road, and Jato Aka Road among others, were described as practical evidence of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s translation into infrastructure that directly improved mobility, commerce, and daily quality of life for residents. Mrs. Tinubu thanked the governor for naming one of the roads in her honor and praised his administration for delivering more than 45 road projects within three years.
Governor Alia said the completed roads had opened previously inaccessible communities, cut travel times, and created employment during construction, and expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for consistent support to sub-national governments under the federation’s revised allocation framework following the removal of fuel subsidies.
