Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Union of Pensioners and organised labour for endorsing his administration ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke said he was deeply humbled by the overwhelming support from pensioners and workers, describing the endorsement as a recognition of his administration’s efforts to improve their welfare and living conditions.
According to the governor, his government has prioritised the prompt payment of salaries and pensions, the settlement of inherited arrears, and the implementation of a ₦25,000 pension award for retirees in the state.
He also highlighted the enrolment of pensioners in the Osun Health Insurance Scheme, which provides access to free healthcare services, as part of measures aimed at improving the wellbeing of senior citizens.
Adeleke said his administration remains committed to policies that promote workers’ welfare and restore dignity and hope to retirees across the state.
The governor thanked pensioners and labour unions for their continued support, pledging to sustain people-centred governance under his administration’s “Imole Continuity Agenda.”
He assured residents that his government would continue to place workers, pensioners, and the general public at the centre of policy decisions aimed at driving development and improving living standards in Osun State.
The endorsement comes ahead of the August 15 governorship election, as political activities intensify across the state.
