Delta Contractors Forum Backs DESOPADEC Board Tenure Extension Under Governor Oborevwori

The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission Indigenous Contractors Forum has welcomed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s decision to extend the tenure of the DESOPADEC board by one year, describing the move as a well-deserved recognition of the board’s contributions to community development and its constructive relationship with stakeholders.

In a statement signed by Forum Chairman Engineer Ogie Samson and Secretary Prince Charles Ebigbagha, the group said the board’s tenure under its current leadership had brought positive changes to the commission and improved engagement with the communities it served.

The forum singled out Executive Director for Finance and Administration Chief Kome Okpobo for particular commendation, crediting him with fostering a positive relationship between the commission and the Indigenous Contractors Forum. It described the extension as a confirmation of Governor Oborevwori’s confidence in the ability of the board, led by Chairman Chief John Nani, alongside Managing Director Chief Festus M. Ochonogor and Okpobo, to run DESOPADEC successfully.

The forum pledged its continued support to the governor and the board, expressing confidence that the extension would allow for consolidation of existing achievements and further progress across the oil-producing communities of Delta State.
