Atiku Visits Amaechi, Discusses Nigeria’s Challenges

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday visited former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, at his residence in Abuja, where both leaders held discussions on the state of the nation.

Atiku disclosed that their meeting focused on key national issues, including the country’s worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and the need for patriotic Nigerians to continue seeking solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.

According to the former vice president, the discussions were frank and centred on concerns over what he described as the nation’s drift and growing despair.

“Beyond the warmth and camaraderie, we had deep and honest conversations about the troubling state of our nation, the growing economic pain, insecurity, and the urgent responsibility on patriotic Nigerians to continue engaging in the search for solutions that can rescue our country from drift and despair,” Atiku said.

The visit also coincided with Amaechi’s birthday celebration, as Atiku extended goodwill messages to the former minister.

The former vice president also injected a lighter moment into the meeting by joking about Arsenal’s recent league triumph, noting that the victory came at a fitting time for Amaechi, whom he described as a passionate Arsenal supporter.

Atiku said Amaechi received the football banter in good spirits.

He further revealed that the former Rivers governor promised to host him again with a serving of Fisherman Soup, a popular Rivers delicacy, during a future visit.
