NCCIMA Chief Describes Dangote Group as Model of Africa’s Industrial Renaissance

The Director General of the Niger Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has described the Dangote Group as a transformative force driving Africa’s economic renaissance, saying the conglomerate was not only industrializing Nigeria but actively reshaping the continent’s industrial landscape through sustained investment in cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, agriculture, and energy.

Adamu Salihu made the remarks ahead of the Dangote Special Day at the 22nd Niger National Trade Fair in Minna, where the chamber planned to showcase the group’s achievements to the Niger State business community and the wider African business audience.

He described the group’s backward integration strategy and local sourcing model as having created wealth for Nigerians by stimulating domestic production and reducing import dependence, and cited the Dangote Petroleum Refinery as a landmark project that had reshaped Nigeria’s energy landscape by conserving foreign exchange, eliminating fuel shortages, and promoting competition.

Salihu also referenced Dangote’s recent announcement at the Africa We Build Summit in Nairobi of plans to construct an identical refinery in East Africa within four to five years subject to government backing, describing the continental expansion as a clear demonstration that the group’s ambition extended beyond Nigeria toward transforming Africa through African capital, expertise, and technology.
