Former Seriake Dickson has received coordinators and members of the Obidient Movement from across Nigeria during a meeting held alongside members of the National Working Committee of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).

Dickson said the engagement provided an opportunity to appreciate the group for its commitment to democratic change, particularly during and after the 2023 general elections.

According to him, the Obidient Movement members were encouraged to work closely with their respective state chairmen to ensure their full integration into the NDC structure nationwide.

The former Bayelsa governor praised the group’s dedication to opposition politics and democratic advocacy, noting that he personally understood the demands of political activism from years of experience in opposition politics since 1998.

He assured the members that the NDC remained committed to advancing democratic ideals and national development.

During the gathering, Dickson and the National Chairman of the NDC also formally welcomed Bayelsa-based entrepreneur and politician Diepreye Abaye Leghemo, popularly known as “Dangote of Bayelsa,” into the party.

Dickson described the NDC as the appropriate political platform for Nigerians seeking progressive leadership and urged Leghemo to contribute actively toward promoting the party’s vision and ideals.

The meeting also featured the presentation of a vehicle donated to the party by a young supporter from Kano State.

Dickson expressed appreciation to the donor and other supporters who have continued to contribute financially and materially to the growth of the party since its launch.

He said the increasing support and influx of Nigerians from different regions, political movements and backgrounds into the NDC reflected a growing national desire for a more just, united and prosperous Nigeria.

According to him, the party would continue to strengthen its structures and pursue its vision of building a nation that works for all citizens through unity, courage and determination.
