Manchester City Defeat Chelsea to Win FA Cup

Manchester City F.C. have been crowned winners of the 2025–26 FA Cup after securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Chelsea F.C. in Saturday’s final at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester City entered the encounter as favourites following their earlier Carabao Cup triumph over Arsenal F.C., but faced a resilient Chelsea side in a tightly contested match.

The breakthrough eventually came in the 72nd minute through Antoine Semenyo, who produced a moment of brilliance to separate both teams.

Semenyo expertly redirected a low cross from Erling Haaland with a deft flick that beat Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and rolled into the bottom corner.

The goal proved decisive as City held on to claim another major domestic trophy under manager Pep Guardiola.

The victory marked Guardiola’s 20th major trophy in charge of Manchester City and his third FA Cup title with the club.

City’s route to the trophy included victories over several top domestic rivals. The club eliminated Newcastle United F.C. in the round of 16 and later defeated Liverpool F.C. in the quarterfinals.

They also survived a difficult semifinal clash against Southampton F.C., scoring two late goals to advance to the final.

The FA Cup triumph adds to an already successful season for Manchester City as the club continues its pursuit of further silverware.
