Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede has directed troops of the 2 National Mission Force Brigade in Samaru Kataf to intensify operations against terrorism and other security threats in their joint operations area and across Southern Kaduna, challenging them to continuously develop innovative tactical strategies that kept them ahead of criminal elements operating in the region.
Oluyede made the directive during an operational visit to the brigade designed to assess its combat readiness, identify operational challenges, and determine what additional support and equipment was needed to sustain and strengthen ongoing security operations in an area significantly affected by insurgency, kidnapping, and cattle rustling before the brigade’s establishment in 2024.
He expressed satisfaction with the alertness and professionalism of the troops while urging sustained commitment, discipline, and dedication to their responsibilities. He assured them that the military would continue to provide necessary equipment, platforms, and welfare support to ensure operational success.
Brigade Commander Captain O.J. Ekuma reported several achievements recorded since the formation’s establishment, including the neutralization of criminal elements, recovery of weapons and rustled cattle, rescue of kidnap victims, and the arrest of high-profile bandits and their collaborators.
